Symone did a great job sharing her godmother's life story. I loved how she intertwined historical facts within Lear's life events. It was inspiring to read about the love, strength, and dedication of such an amazing woman. It warmed my heart to get a glimpse into the love shared between a godmother and her goddaughter- a bond that cannot be broken. It is a page-turner and I enjoyed every moment.

I appreciate the story of Mrs. Lear Green tremendously. To read a story about a woman who has lived through many decades and experienced the evolution of the world, is liberating. I especially loved reading through the relationship between Lear, Symoné and Mary, three generations of black women who love and support each other fully and gently.
